Man of Words: Zeke Ox
Zeke Ox, or Ezekiel Ox, as Wikipedia still calls him, is a man of many talents. The Zeke Ox that most people are probably familiar with is Zeke the songwriter and frontman of a great swathe of bands, including Mammal, who recorded their first album, Vol 1: The Aural Underground, live at the Evelyn. Zeke is also a political activist, filmmaker, actor and lawyer, and itβs this part of Zeke that I really respect him for. Choosing to study to become a lawyer, so that he can go inside the political system instead of simply protesting about it from the outside, gives him cred and kudos in my eyes. After many conversations with him, I am incredibly impressed with his impeccable sense of right and wrong β his moral compass is finely tuned, and his desire to fight for what is right, especially in terms of rights for First Nation Australians, is downright formidable.
